I miss not having a garden. Is anyone else interested in having a society garden?

My initial thoughts are we research what community garden projects exist in the city. Any other ideas?

I was reading a magazine on lawn maintenance, which was describing how to remove the popular weeds. This makes me wonder what our obsession with grass as we know it really is? Perhaps it is better to start using our green space to plant herbs, fruits and vegtables, whatever will grow in that area? Especially self maintaining plants such as annuals? Can you imagine walking home, and likely to find herbs, vegetables for a salad, and potatoes on your way home every day?

I’ve thought about this kind of thing for the space I so often see between the sidewalk and the road that is grass. Why not make this kind of space available for community use as gardening space.

Maybe a good starting point would be to find a suitable neighborhood and get the support of the residents there and then take the proposal to the local municipality.
