The Event

This meeting was coordinated with an event hosted by the Clocktower Brew Pub on Bank Street in Ottawa. The event in question was a beer and cheese tasting event.

The beer and cheese tastings included:

  • The Clocktower wheat beer(Kolsh) and Grand Creme, a soft cheese
  • The Clocktower ESB with an old Canadian cheddar
  • The Clocktower Brown with Juraflore
  • The Clocktower Red with Old Amsterdam (gooda)
  • The Clocktower Raspberry with a 71% dark chocolate

Patrick presented what one could look for in the tastes, techniques for getting the most out of the testing, and opened the floor to get feedback from the participants.

A handout included information about what one might look for for the particular pairings, and suggestions for substitutes for the beers which are only available at the Clocktower.

The Meeting

The agenda for the meeting called for discussion about future meetings and addressing the Junto Questions as done in other Yashy Idea Society meetings.
